South China University of Technology entered the top 200 of the “Academic Ranking of World Universities” in 2020, with four disciplines ranking among the top 1% in the ESI, placing it on par with world-class universities. The Guangzhou International Campus is the third campus constructed by South China University of Technology following the Wushan Campus and the University Town Campus. As a national-level campus and a key project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangdong Province, and Guangzhou City, it is located in the core area of the southern bank of Guangzhou International Innovation City in Panyu District, Guangzhou City. It is situated in a “Belt and Road” super gateway city, an important transportation hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, across the river from Guangzhou University Town and connected to Guangzhou Smart City. It features a comprehensive transportation network system with “four horizontal and seven vertical” roads, covering an area of approximately 1,700 acres with a total construction area of 1.09 million square meters. The Guangzhou Municipal Government completed the basic construction and supporting facilities through a “turnkey project.”
