Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center

As of January 2009, the Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center was still under construction. It was developed in accordance with Shijiazhuang City's “one major step forward each year, significant transformation in three years” planning framework and the phased outcomes of the international consultation on urban design for the ecological development and renovation zone of the Hutuo River urban section. The Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center is located west of the intersection of the Hutuo River and Taiping River. The Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center is situated south of the southern bank of the Hutuo River, north of Taiping River North Road, and east of the planned north-south branch road. The total land area is approximately 68.5 hectares, with above-ground floor area of 160,000 square meters and underground floor area of 30,000 square meters. The Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center includes an exhibition center of 100,000 square meters, a conference center of 60,000 square meters, and supporting facilities; As of early May 2008, the total construction period for the Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center was three years, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan. The funds required for the project were fully allocated by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Finance Bureau, with plans to invest over three years. It is considered to be of significant importance for improving urban functions, enhancing the city's image, strengthening its competitiveness, and increasing its influence.
